The oldest living organism on earth is a grove of trees that are genetically identical and estimated to be over 80,000 years old! Did you know that the average tree can absorb 48 pounds of carbon dioxide a year and will have sequestered more than a ton of CO2 by the time they are 40 years old? How about using a tree as a compass?
Obviously there is more going on with trees than most of us realize. Join us for a day of learning the stories of trees, and how to tell them apart from their neighbors. Program will start with an indoor portion and weather permitting will be followed by an outdoor exploration of trees and shrubs at Sugarloaf Cove. Come see the forest and the trees!
