It’s February and the days are getting longer, but the Groundhogs say we’ve still got 6 more weeks of winter. No great mystery when you live in Minnesota!
But let’s take advantage of the opportunity to still explore what’s been happening at Sugarloaf this winter.
Come dressed for hiking the trail and join Margie on a winter exploration to see what animals have left their tracks and other signs in the snow. You’ll also chill out with cool ice formations in the cove and talk ice status on the big lake and what it means for the spring and summer ahead. Listen for Chickadees singing and setting up nesting territories! There’s a lot going on out there!
You will not need snowshoes, the trail is well packed and we can work around any icy sections. But if you have ice grippers for your boots, they can be helpful.
We will have hot beverages back at the Nature Center at the conclusion of the hike.
