Come to Sugarloaf Cove Nature Center and make your own small painting of a plant specimen. All materials will be provided from a portable art studio created by Allison Healy as part of a studio residency with the Grand Marais Art Colony. The painting will be documented as part of a larger project, and the original is yours to keep!
About the Instructor
Allison Meredith Healy is an illustrator, designer, and woodworker from Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. She earned a BFA in illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and spent time studying illustration and graphic design at The University of Brighton, in England through the Student Exchange Program. Her work has appeared in many publications such as book covers, children’s books, magazines, album covers, and applied graphics on various products for both print and web. She also runs a small woodworking business, Rooted Relics.
